Giannis Mourmouris was born on 5/7/1978 in Corfu. He is a high school graduate and studied at the Department of Fine Art at Vakalo School in Athens from 1997-2001. At the same time, besides painting, he attended sculpture-plastic, drawing, engraving and lithography courses as well as History and Art seminars. He lives and works in Corfu, where he maintains his staff at the "Mourmouris Gallery" at 25 Arseniou Street. The painting streams he deals with are Expressionism-Fascism-Surrealism and Modern Symbolism. He paints works with expressionistic mood, cruelty of color and a vivid surreal symbolic background. Most of his works are oil paintings on canvas and wood. He has made 6 personal reports: Corfu, April 1997, Corfu Municipal Theater Foyer. Athens, May 1999, Formionos Gallery 3. He has also participated from 2008 to 2013 in the Pan-Papanesean Painting Exhibition organized by the ORFEUS music-group in the city of Lefkada. His works are in private collections. Finally, he also deals with poetry. He has published a poetic collection entitled: Surviving with Chimera, from the ALDE publications in 2006.
