Nikos Papadopoulos was born in Athens in 1933. From early childhood he became occupied with painting. At the age of 16 he took the first prize for painting from the Greek Biotechnical Company. He is self-taught in painting and is considered to be one of the best teachers of modern Greek art. He has had many personal and group expositions in Greece and abroad. He also was a member of the tour "Greece is not only Athens" and presented his art work in Patras, Larisa, Volos, Halkida, Ioannina, Corinth, Nafplio, Kalamata, Tripoli, Pirgo, Kastoria, Rhodes, Kavalla, and Heraklion, Crete. He has won awards in Italy and has taken scholarships for painting and sculpturing.
From the arts of the artist it's seems the desire of the artist and each man to find a better place to live. The human figures defile bound with the nature constitute the challenge for change of living way and return to the roots.
The shiny colors of the sky are defile harmonium with the green of landscape and the characteristic figures of men which live at the open air. In the marine pictures the colors of the sky and the sea are likely to effect the trees and the small houses of the open air which integrate the artist's whole, creating works which reveal the experience and the right formation of the artist.
